Two way’s of Gaining wisdom and understanding

Growing up, getting older, includes “growing in knowledge and wisdom.”    The matter of fact is, God wants us to grow in all of these areas. Especially in our relationship with HIM. For it is through this relationship that we will learn what is good.

In Jeremiah 9:23-24.  God Himself speaks about this. Thus says the Lord: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches;  24.  but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,'' says the Lord.

God is wanting us to grow in Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom.

James 1:5; “ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him”.  Later in James 3:17; we learn about the fruit of this. (Vs.17)  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

However it is important to recognize that there are good way’s of growing in these areas, and there are bad ways. Each producing their own results (FRUIT).

The good way: Asking God.

King Solomon did, and read what he received.  Just what he asked for and more.  Wisdom and Blessings !

2 Chron. 9:23-24;  And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.  24.  Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.

The bad way: Giving in to temptation.

Like Eve’s way. She did that what she knew was wrong, and brought Wisdom ( About things God wanted to protect her from ) and a Curse (Rev.22:3).  Gen. 3:6; “…She saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate”.

The Bible sees this in James 3:15 as:  "This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.  16.  For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing will be there”.    The fruit of this curse can be seen in Rev. 21:4; Tears; death; sorrow; crying; pain…

Let’s draw wisdom from the Good source, and enjoy it’s benefits.
